Daniel Hostrander, D.D.S.

Director, Registrar, Administrator, Instructor

Dr. Dan Hostrander attended Indiana University before attaining his doctorate from the University of North Carolina in 2015. He has practiced in Charlotte since graduating in 2015. In 2018 he started his own practice, Horizon Dental, in Charlotte. He is a member of American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, Charlotte Dental Society Board Member, Academy of General Dentistry, as well as a member of the Dental Success Institute. Dr. Dan started the dental assisting school to help better the lives of all those seeking to become professionals in the dental field in a way that is more practical than other dental assisting programs.

Jennifer Towery

Registrar, Administrator, Instructor

Jennifer has been a dental assistant since 2011 in and around the Charlotte area and finds working in the dental field to be truly rewarding!  She is currently working at Horizon Dental as a member of a dedicated team of caring clinicians where she enjoys impacting the lives of her patients.  Jennifer can often be found outdoors with her loyal dog and friend, Lula Mae, reading or enjoying time with those she loves.  She finds her passion in empowering others to become the best version of themselves and sharing the wealth of knowledge she’s gathered throughout her years in dentistry.   It is her goal that through Dental Assisting Preparatory Academy she can impact the lives of those she instructs as well as enrich the workforce with capable, confident and caring dental assistants.

Ashley Metten, RDH

Instructor

Ashley is originally from Richmond, VA and graduated from Old Dominion University with her Bachelors in Dental Hygiene in 2016. Her personable and communicative approach to hygiene appointments puts all our patients at ease. She is truly passionate about dentistry and loves educating patients about their oral health. She enjoys exploring Charlotte and being outdoors with her dogs, Cheeto and Boots. 

Susan Bond, DA II

Instructor

Susan has been in the dental field since 2011. She started as a hygiene assistant and quickly moved to chairside assistance with the doctor. Her current role is Lead Assistant in the Fort Mill area. In her free time, she spends as much time as possible with her husband and son watching baseball games and taking their travel trailer to the beach. 

Carrie Beatty, RDH

Instructor

Carrie is a Registered Dental Hygienist that started her dental career as a dental assistant in 1995. She has worked in various aspects of dentistry including orthodontics, oral surgery, and general dentistry. Carrie spends most of her work time practicing clinically, however several days a month she mentors fellow hygienists. During free time Carrie enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with her family.
